THE SPARKLING Wedding Reception At The Hilton Easton
So the frequent readers on our Columbus wedding blog will know by now that I love weddings at the Hilton Easton. However Connor & Jerika took their reception to another level….that included wedding crashers later in the evening!
Private dance are a ‘wedding thing’. We are doing them before the reception starts and sometimes after the end of the reception. So before the doors to the ballroom were opened, the bride and groom walked in and looked around their beautiful ballroom. Then they had a private dance to the song “Beyond”. It was a really nice moment and I think its a great idea that other couples should consider doing.
The ballroom was set up with simple / classic white uplighting that we supplied. I just love how our decor lighting can really make this beautiful ballroom look even better. Its a great ‘wow’ effect when the guests enter into the room, setting the stage for a wonderful celebration.
Speaking of how to start a celebration, one of the things we always suggest to our clients is to have a fun introduction. And Connor & Jerika did just that with “Burning Love” be Elvis for the introduction song. Its a great song for introductions, and we need to start suggesting this song even more to our clients.
I really love the song they picked for their first dance - More Than Words by Extreme. Its a great song, and the harmonies are spot on. Its also a song that we just don’t play too often anymore. It you aren’t familiar with the song, check it out on Youtube. You’re welcome LOL.
So about the wedding crashers. There was a really large Indian wedding in the other ballroom during the evening. Well, as the guests were leaving that reception, a few of them saw that the party was still going strong at our reception. So they just sort of ‘joined the fun on the dance floor’ with everyone just laughing and enjoying themselves.
That will be the one big memory for this evening full of great memories.
The last song of the night was a popular one - Mr Brightside. And of course it worked GREAT! If you look closely, you can see the ‘wedding crashers’.
